Why I’m Different
Most self-employed people were taught how to be excellent at their craft - but almost nothing about how to run a business.
That gap is where stress, overwhelm, undercharging, and burnout begin.
My background allows me to bridge that gap in a way very few mentors can. I spent years working in accountancy and finance, understanding how businesses function behind the scenes - cash flow, margins, structure, and decision-making.
I then became a national award-winning makeup artist, living the reality of self-employment from the inside: clients, pressure, creativity, long hours, emotional labour, and income instability.
Later, I built Studio B Collective - a community-led space for self-employed creatives - where I saw the same pattern repeat again and again:
Brilliant people.
Incredible talent.
Very little business understanding.
That combination is exhausting - and completely fixable.
My Journey (and Why It Matters)
I didn’t arrive at mentoring through theory.
I arrived here through lived experience.
I understand numbers not as spreadsheets, but as tools for freedom.
